Two Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
